Falling From Grace

The Chandelier, originally designed as a practical candle holder has, over the centuries, become a symbol of opulence. It's usefulness as a light source is debatable. It's threatening dangling overhead, a much-used symbol in popular culture. It has come full circle. Back to the dark ages from which it came. The energy hungry incandescent light bulb has made way for the aesthetically challenged energy saver halogen bulb. This Chandelier holds no globes and no longer serves a useful purpose. Like the plastic it is made from, it has reached obsolescence.
